Here for good.

Brunswick Industries is an inclusive Australian social enterprise, where people with disability have access to meaningful work, producing quality products within our professional business.

Our business partners

Since 1968, we have been providing a full range of services to our customers in both the public and private sectors, while supporting people with disability to contribute to society through paid work and connect with our community.

We proudly train and employ over 90 people who have been welcomed into our family environment. We are actively growing production so that we can train a larger workforce, because the more business we do, the more work we can give to disadvantaged job seekers.

Our history

Brunswick Industries’ journey began back in 1968, when the Brunswick Sheltered Workshop, a joint venture between the Mount Royal Hospital and the Rotary Club of Brunswick, was established to assist in the rehabilitation of stroke victims. Hoffman Bricks, then called Clifton Bricks, provided land and a building in Syme Street, Brunswick. Important links still remain between the Brunswick Industries and the Rotary Club of Brunswick & Tullamarine.

In 1974, a two-storey extension was added, and in 1980, a large store and work area were also built.

The workshop became an incorporated body in 1986 under the Associations Incorporation Act, and in 1992, its name changed to Brunswick Industries Association Incorporated. The Association continued to operate as part of the hospital until 1993.

2018 saw Brunswick Industries celebrate 50 years of operation. Continuing our proud tradition of providing meaningful employment and training opportunities as an Australian Disability Enterprise and Service Provider in the NDIS.

BIA moved to a new much larger 3000m² purpose fit-out facility in 2022 with an eye to the future to provide quality and timely services to the business community whilst still honouring our commitment to providing supports in employment to our people.

As part of our focus on the future Brunswick Industries launched its own brand “Ribbon®” in 2023 to provide further opportunities for growth and employment.

In June 2023, Brunswick Industries merged its social enterprise operation into Wallara Australia Ltd as philosophy, strategy and supported employment alignments provided the opportunity to join forces and become a larger and dynamic entity with a greater potential to expand our range of services to our community. The Wallara group includes several social enterprises such as Sages Cottage Farm , Wallara Productions, Land Management Services and collectively supports 650 clients across employment, accommodation and life skills - https://www.wallara.com.au/
